 OSDeploy is a menu-driven remote installer, that's accessible through any ssh client. End-users are allowed to install opensim software remotely in a controlled and user-friendly environment. The application has automated config writers for Opensim, hwios, osmaps and osservices.
OSDeploy is built on top of python, twisted, twisted conch, urwid and txurwid.

2010-02-19It costed more efford than expected, to complete the first alpha version. This had mainly to do with the communication between osservices and hwios. I didn't like the idea that a user had to fill in both osservices' service entries, and repeat that step with hwios as well. Testing

2010-01-30ssh support was added to osdeploy, using twisted conch and txurwid. The installer can now be reached through standard ssl clients like openssh and putty. It was written in Python instead of bash, because it needed an object orientated design, and python has excellent support for things like threading/processes(twisted) and rapid gui-development(urwid).
