Quite a few major changes/revisions have been made since this Scope of Work has been posted, but we should certainly start with the latest OpenSim 0.7 RC and possibly have updated revisions of the User Manual that coincide with the latest OpenSim RC release numbers (0.7 RC, 0.8 RC, 0.9 RC, etc.) This way we can keep the User Manual up to date, and users know which version of the manual to download (based on the version of OpenSim they are running. Terrain, Money, Database Manipulation, Statistics & Performance all seem like excellent topics to cover in the manual. I believe SQLite support is going away, so I'm not quite sure about that topic. But we certainly do need to cover MySQL and possibly even MSSQL. I believe MySQL is probably the best to start with, since it's OpenSource and cross platform (Windows and Linux). We may want to discuss a baseline server build (both a Linux server build, and then a Windows Server build). For example maybe use the latest Ubuntu 9.10 Server Edition (as a baseline Linux server build), and maybe use Windows 2008 Server (as the baseline Windows Server build). Then use MySQL as the baseline database (since it could be used with both Windows and Linux). I supposed maybe we should create two different manuals (a USER Manual and an Systems Administrator Manual). Use the Sys Admin manual for installation, setup, and configuration (and database manipulation, backups, etc.). Then use the User Manual for Terrain, Statistics & Performance (this can be added to Sys Admin as well), and Money (this can be added to Sys Admin manual as well). Could we begin by starting with the OpenSim 0.7 RC as our baseline platform, and begin working on the manual?
