I do not want this new Hippo and I am very pissed there is a new version.

New versions mean new bugs. When can developers start understanding that 99% of the normal users want stability only. Hippo was such a very very great and stable viewer before version 0.6 came.

I had to switch back to version 0.5 but this means this annoying popup each time I start my viewer.

Is there a cure/patch for this "there is an upgrade" popup?

i found something in the  settings.xml called

<string>osgrid</string>
    </map>
    <key>CheckForUpdate</key>
<key>Comment</key>
        <string>Check for new viewer version on startup</string>

i read something about this but did not followd the link (bad me) .. i could need this as well ..

i just googled about this and looked into the forum .. but nothing ..

i found a cmd_line.xml in the program folder but there is no command like /noupdatecheck :-)

Yes thats the solution..

EDIT the file settings.xml

SEARCH for   <key>CheckForUpdate</key>

and set the integer value from

<integer>1</integer>  to   <integer>0</integer>

After this it does not check for updates anymore .. !
