yes this is called "linking" just select a "group" of prims and press CTRL+L or chooose link object in menu. The last prim you select will be "root prim", all other prims are linked to that prim. Make sure thet the root prim is easy to reach, if you want to export your build or use a "packer". go to http://opensim-users.2152040.n2.nabble.com/ if you have any more question with opensim...
