I tried the modularrex module on a pre-existing opensim world that had 2 regions ("Metaphorz 2" and "Metaphorz 3"). I ensured that the correct IP was used. Authentication worked when I logged into the viewer, but the viewer logs out with: You have been logged out of RealXtend You were sent to an invalid region Please try to connect again after a short while..... In the opensim.exe console, "show regions" shows the 2 regions ("Metaphorz 2" and "Metaphorz 3"). I have tried several settings in Preferences in the Rex Viewer, "Home", and manually setting to one of the two region names, but no luck -- same viewer error as before.
Submitted By: Paul Fishwick Adddate: 2008-12-17 20:58:07 This bug may be related to #112. Not sure, however, getting modrex to function with either a pre-existing multi-region sim OR one that you have created using "create-region" from the opensim.exe console, is problematic.
Submitted By: Mikko Pallari Adddate: 2009-01-30 11:38:48 It seems that scene informs the client with wrong region info. It sends information about the IP and port defined in xml file in Regions directory, when it should inform about the port for RexClients.
Submitted By: Paul Fishwick Adddate: 2009-01-30 15:43:31 I would think the two would be the same? If I use create-region, I need to specify the port (say, 9001 for a 2nd region), and this is coded in the Regions xml file. For HyperGrid, it probably does something similar. What kind of fix is required to make teleports and region-crossings valid?
Submitted By: Jeroen van Veen Adddate: 2009-02-03 12:39:03 I checked with rev.52 of modrex, and the same is still happening. Starting the simulator with two regions, and then login results in the "no valid region" message, and a black viewer screen. With only one region, it starts fine. If i create a new region when logged in, then the console passes this message: 12:26:22 - [SCENE]: Could not find presence for agent 1853e781-b449-473f-b733-a73d636cbfb1 crossing into scene test2 12:26:22 - [SCENE PRESENCE]: Closing child agents. Checking 1 regions in WiXTD Main 12:26:22 - [SCENE PRESENCE]: No CAPS information for region handle 8550901931205120, exiting CrossToNewRegion.
Submitted By: Paul Fishwick Adddate: 2009-02-13 15:50:29 I am confused (which is probably not unusual for me :) -- the summary says that #113 is fixed. There were actually 2 problems embedded in one here: problem # 1: you could not relogin to the viewer where one than one region is used problem # 2: you cannot cross to the 2nd region or teleport to it. Problem # 1 seems to have been solved. Problem # 2 has not been solved -- I just created a 2nd region with the latest opensim/modrex build and I cannot teleport to it, although it shows on the map. So, modrex is still limited to worlds containing a single region unless I am mistaken?
Submitted By: Mikko Pallari Adddate: 2009-02-25 07:58:48 This has been fixed in revision 77. This fix however requires to disable EventQueue from OpenSim.ini. To do this, set "EventQueue = false" under [Startup].
